IKON

Len Lye event at Ikon Eastside

28 August 2008

Join us on Saturday 6 September at Ikon Eastside for a celebration of Len Lye, a pioneering and incessantly curious artist/filmmaker.

The evening which has been organised in collaboration with 7Inch Cinema, includes 16mm screenings of a full range of Lye’s film works from early experiments for the GPO Film Unit to the masterly Free Radicals (1959) and is accompanied by a talk with Tyler Cann, Curator of the Len Lye Collection at the Govett-Brewster Gallery in New Plymouth, New Zealand. There is also a rare screening of Lye’s first film Tusalava (1929) with specially-commissioned live score by acclaimed young jazz pianist Alcyona.

Places are free but should be reserved by calling Ikon on tel. 0121 248 0708.
