This paperback publication accompanied Cornelia Parker’s exhibition at the Brontë Parsonage Museum in West Yorkshire from 16 September to 31 December 2006.
In 2005, the Brontë Parsonage Museum commissioned Parker to produce new work in response to the museum collection. The Parsonage is famous as the Brontës’ home and the place where great novels such as Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights were written. Parker’s Brontëan Abstracts were displayed throughout the house, alongside original artefacts, to encourage new ways of looking at the museum’s collection and at contemporary art.
Also included in this publication is a forward by Andrew McCarthy, an essay by Deborah Levy and an interview between the artist and Andrew McCarthy.
