Erika Tan is a British-based curator originating from Singapore. Her work has evolved from an interest in anthropology and the moving image. informed by specific cultural, geographic and physical contexts, she explores different media to tantalise, question and confront her audiences.
This is the first monograph on Erika Tan's work, published in
conjunction with the exhibition of PIDGIN interrupted transmission at
Norwich Gallery between November and December 2001. Erika Tan's
innovative installation explores the mutations of languages as they
clash, combine and cross-pollinate one into another in today's
media-saturated polyglot landscape.
