Hardback, cloth-bound, colour images, 32 pages, W260 x H166mm

This beautifully produced, small-format catalogue accompanied First Light, Robert Groves’ exhibition at Warwickshire’s Packwood House in 2007, a collaboration between Ikon and The National Trust, and Groves’ first solo exhibition for over ten years.

Robert Groves is one of the founders of Ikon, and is, in fact, the artist who gave the gallery its name when it opened in 1964. The new work featured in this catalogue – presented in fourteen full-colour reproductions – consists of a selection of drawings inspired by the remarkable topiary in the gardens of Packwood House.

The publication also includes information on the history of Packwood, accompanied by photographs and plans of the house, and a short essay on Groves’ work by Diana Stevenson
