This catalogue accompanied the Marcel Dzama exhibition at Ikon in June 2006. Canadian artist Dzama is well known for his small scale drawings and paintings of human figures, animals and strange imaginary hybrids. His work refers to a broad range of stylistic sources across high and low culture - from the illustrations of Beatrix Potter to MTV and from film noir to science fiction.
This beautifully produced publication features a foreword by Ikon Director, Jonathan Watkins, an interview with the artist by Carter Foster, a biography, a list of works and full colour images of the artist’s drawings, dioramas, paintings, sculptural work, film/video stills and scrapbook works.
