This catalogue marked Sundaribai's first solo exhibition outside of India which took place at Ikon and consisted of painted clay sculpture and wall mounted panels. The exhibition proposed a place for craft activity within the context of an innovative contemporary art programme. Easy-going with respect to a conventional (western) art/craft distinction, it is also remarkable for its inventiveness and ambition.
With a text by Jyotindra Jain and a foreword by Ikon Director Jonathan Watkins, this publication contains full colour imagery of the artist at work, installation shots from previous presentations and individual works.
