IKON

Peter Hedegaard

Untitled (colour sequence : red)

Silk screen print, unframed, edition of 50, W560mm x 760mm
To coincide with This could happen to you: Ikon in the 1970s, two of Peter Hedegaard’s limited edition silk screen prints will be available. Hedegaard had a solo show in 1971, the last to be held at the Swallow Street site prior to Ikon’s reopening at the Birmingham Shopping Centre, now the Pallasades, in 1972.

These prints relate strongly to work that followed his Ikon exhibition. They progressively map colour and scale based on mathematical structures, as seen in the painting exhibited, a prize winner from the John Moores Exhibition at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool in 1974.

Prints from the edition available are:

Untitled (colour sequence: red): 3/50, 15/50, 17/50, 20/50

Untitled (colour sequence: blue, green and yellow): 4/50, 6/50, 8/50, 10/50
