FILE Magazine is a bi-annual publication featuring a broad
selection of visual communication in the fields of graphic design, art,
photography, fashion and moving image.
For the 3rd issue author Steven Heller to writes a piece about Czech
Constructivist and pioneer of information design in the United States,
Ladislav Sutnar.
The cover for this issue features a painting by the very talented
Spanish born artist Antonio Santin followed by an
interview as well as a beautiful selection of his work. Flipping the
page from Santin’s broad brush strokes you’ll be introduced to Danish
architect Bjarke Ingels who heads the architectural
practice BIG which he founded in 2006.
Alongside an interview in the
magazine the DVD features an 18 minute short film about the process of
one of BIG’s latest projects - 8 House.
By featuring Ingel’s grand architectural constructions inspired
to go inside the “house” to take a closer look at the interior and are
therefore very pleased to introduce the famous Dutch flower artist and
designer Wouter Dolk. Dolk is particular well known for
his luxurious custom made hand-painted wallpapers.
Also featured in
this issue is UK born video artist and photographer Rob Carter
who’s work uses stop-motion animation, time-lapse video and large
format photographs to spotlight iconic and political structures in our
urban environment. On print we have a great selection of stills from
some of Carter’s films which also are featured on the DVD.
