American artist Marie Lorenz is known for her extraordinary outdoor interventions. For Ikon, she built a small boat by hand, using rubbish found in the city’s canals and took local people on trips around the otherwise inaccessible waterway at Icknield Port Loop. Lorenz documented these intimate journeys through text based anecdotes and photographs on her website and has subsequently produced a travel log of the voyages, available to collect from Ikon as a free limited edition.
