During Autumn 2000, Ikon hosted a new project by American artist Patrick Killoran. The notion of the body as sculpture played an important part in the installation, Observation Deck. Visitors were invited to lie on a horizontal platform, which slid mechanically from the inside to the outside of the building. This experience played on an instinctive sense of vulnerability, through moving head and shoulders out of a second floor window, at the same time enhancing awareness of location in architectural space.
Due to popular demand, this project took place again in September - November 2006.
