For Artsfest 2008 Ikon invited Matthew Robinson, aka Jinpow, to facilitate a stop frame animation workshop in response to Shahzia Sikander’s exhibition. The session involved participants of all ages taking part in a large scale communal chalk board drawing, and a smaller projected image drawing looking at the themes of pattern, repetition, and colour explored in Sikander’s work. These drawings were photographed every few seconds to create the two communal stop frame animations that can be seen in the Media Gallery.
